April/May 2010 They say everything's bigger in Texas. So it's no surprise that this Lone Star State sweetie's got a boatload of talent. Want proof? He was the hilarious Jimmie "The Rocket" Zara in High School Musical 3, and you can now catch him in his new comedy, Furry Vengeance (out April 30). Matt, 19, plays Tyler Sanders, the sarcastic son of a real estate developer in Oregon, who wants to save the land (and the wildlife living on it) that his dad's new development is set to destroy. It's a role just right for this real-life animal lover. He has four pups of his own and makes regular stop-bys at shelters. A hot guy who's crazy for cats and dogs? Yee haw. COWBOY CUTIE "When I was 4, I won a contest for being the cutest cowboy at a Texas fair. My mom loves bringin that up. When I was a kid, I was lovin' it-I wanted to be a cowboy. Now, not so much." ZAC PACK "Zac (Efron) and I talk at least once a week, if not once a day. I'll read my lines with him for auditions. He's just a great guy, and he's always there for his friends. PUPPY LOVE "I go to animal shelters around town once a week, just to go play with the animals and hang out. I love cats, but I have to say I'm a huge dog fan. I have four of them back in Texas." ANYTHING FOR A LAUGH "Freshman year, I dressed up head-to-toe like Napoleon Dynamite with the moon boots and the 'Vote for Pedro' shirt-I had it all! And, um, it wasn't even Halloween." ROCK BAND "I have jam sessions with Sterling Knight (from Sonny With A Chance) on the guitar, Matt Shively (True Jackson, VP) singing and playing guitar and me on drums. We'll never do the music for any sort of money, it's just fun!" TOP CHEF "I cook a bit. I make great fried chicken. But I love being cooked for, too. A girl has me hooked when she makes a great meal for me." DO THE DOO "My friends call me 'Scoobs'. It started with a joke-we'd do the signature Scooby-Doo move, when he gets freaked out and jumps into Shaggy's arms. We would be at a party with 200 people, and I'll just randomly jump into my friends' arms. It's pretty funny!" Source: Girl's Life Magazine |
